MINUTES
Representative Jeff Johnson, Chairman of the Civil Law Committee, called the ninth
meeting to order at 12:35 PM on Wednesday, February 23, 2005, in Room B of the State Office Building.
The Clerk noted the roll.

Representative Emmer moved approval of the February 14, 2005 Civil Law & Elections Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.
Representative Lesch moved approval of the February 21, 2005 Civil Law & Elections Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.
Representative Jeff Johnson moved HF507 (Westerberg), fair campaign practices, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Omnibus Elections Bill.
Representative Westerberg presented HF507, and moved an oral amendment:
Page 1, line 19, replace the word "or" with "and," THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Johnson moved HF507 be held over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Elections bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative Lesch moved HF424, landlord and tenant; regulating actions by government units to obtain remedies for building, be passed and re-referred to the Commerce Committee.
Representative Lesch moved the A05-0088 amendment (see attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Jeff Johnson moved HF936, increasing news media access to polling places; to be included in the Omnibus Election’s bill.
Representative Johnson moved the 936DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
