MINUTES



Representative Jeff Johnson, Chairman of the Civil Law and Elections Committee, called the twenty sixth meeting to order at 9:00 AM on Wednesday, April 27, 2005, in Room B of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Dean moved approval of the April 4, 2005 Civil Law and Elections Committee minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Emmer moved approval of the April 5, 2005 Civil Law and Elections Committee minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Slawik moved approval of the April 11, 2005 Civil Law and Elections Committee minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Lesch moved approval of the April 12, 2005 Civil Law and Elections Committee minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Chairman Johnson moved HF2187 (Abrams) Hennepin County Medical Center governance provided, and county subsidiary corporation providing healthcare and related services created, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration.

Chairman Johnson moved the H2187A4 amendment (see attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Abrams presented HF2187.

Representative Ellison moved the HDA-066 amendment (see attached).

Randy Johnson Hennepin County Commissioner, Chair of the Hennepin County Board

Representative Ellison withdrew the HDA-066 amendment.

Chairman Johnson renewed his motion that HF2187, as amended, be recommended
to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chairman Johnson moved HF2428 (Howes), relating to public safety; reenacting the
Minnesota Citizens’ Personal Protection Act of 2003, be recommended to pass and
re-referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration.

Chairman Johnson moved the A05-0704 amendment (see attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
