STATE OF MINNESOTA FORTY-FIRST MEETING
HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES EIGHTY-FOURTH SESSION
EDUCATION FINANCE COMMITTEE
MINUTES
Representative Barb Sykora, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the forty-first meeting to order at 1:09 pm, on Wednesday, March 1, 2006 in Room 5 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.
The clerk noted the roll.

Greg Crowe gave a brief overview of the bonding process.
HF2650 (Fritz) appropriating money for improvements at the Minnesota State Academies; authorizing the issuance of general obligation bonds.
Representative Fritz presented.
MN State Academies Testifiers:
Linda Mitchell, Academies Administrator gave a brief description of the school and its services.
Parents of Academy students, Vicki Keller and Sally Burhartsmeier presented their stories.
Sean Virnig, Director of Education, testified.
Harry Chappius, Physical Plant Director.
Ms. Lisa Mueller, Department of Finance took questions on the project.
HF2650(Fritz) was laid over for possible inclusion in the bonding recommendations to the Capital Investment Committee.
HF2966(Latz) Appropriating money for the Perpich Center for the Arts; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
Representative Latz presented.

Brian Steves, Department of Finance answered questions
HF2966(Latz) was laid over for possible inclusion in the bonding recommendations to the Capital Investment Committee.
Representative Dorn moved the minutes from April 20, 2005.
Representative Meslow moved the minutes from February 27, 2006.
Representative Newman moved the minutes from February 28, 2006.
The meeting was adjourned 2:15 p.m.
