MINUTES


Representative Tom Hackbarth, Chair of the Environment & Natural Resources Policy Committee, called the thirty-first meeting to order at 12:35 p.m. on March 23, 2006, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Rep. Cox moved the adoption of the minutes of the Environment and Natural Resources Policy Committee dated March 22, 2006.

12:35:46 PM HF3183 (Hortman) Fluorescent lamps containing mercury; disclosure required regarding disposal of lamps containing mercury.

Rep. Hortman moved that HF3183 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Regulated Industries.
12:36:24 PM Rep. Hortman explained her bill.
12:38:33 PM Mercury Waste Solution, Joseph Carruth, testified in favor of the bill.
12:49:29 PM Rep. Hortman renewed her motion that HF3183 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Regulated Industries.

12:49:47 PM HF3712 (Hackbarth) Mercury Emissions Reduction Act of 2006 adopted requiring mercury emissions by public utilities.

The Chair moved that HF3712 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Regulated Industries.
12:51:00 PM The Chair moved the A2 amendment.

12:51:23 PM The Chair made an oral amendment to fix a typographical error in the bill to read as follows:
Page 6, line 23 delete words “must fulfill” insert “fulfills”
