Representative Kathy Tingelstad, Chair of the Governmental Operations and Veterans Affairs Committee, called the twenty fourth meeting to order at 10:24 am on Tuesday, March 15, 2005, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

HF995 (Erhardt) relating to local government; repealing the compensation limit for local government employees; amending Minnesota Statutes 2004, sections 356.611, subdivision 1; 465.719, subdivision 9; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 43A.17, subdivision 9.
10:26:55 AM Representative Neil Peterson moved that HF995 be passed and sent to the General Register.

11:30:44 AM Representative Neil Peterson renewed his motion that HF995 be passed and sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE BILL WAS PASSED.
HF1172 (Olson) relating to local government; providing for local governments to opt out of state mandates; proposing coding for new law as Minnesota Statutes, chapter 471B.
11:31:41 AM Representative Olson moved that HF1172 be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Education Policy and Reform.
11:31:50 AM Representative Olson moved the H1172A6 Amendment.
Representative Olson moved to amend the H1172A6 Amendment as follows:
Page 2, line 2, after the first "the", insert, "total"; after "costs" insert "of the mandate"; before "authorities" insert "specifically"
