MINUTES


Representative Fran Bradley, Chair of the Health Policy and Finance Committee, called the twenty-fourth meeting to order at 10:20 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Huntley moved approval of the minutes of March 8, 2005. THE MOTION PREVAILED. The minutes were approved.

HF651 (Powell) Ambulance service licensee non-government liability limits provided.

Rep. Powell moved HF 651 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law and Elections.

Rep. Powell presented HF 651.

Rep. Thissen moved to amend HF 651 (see Amendment H0651A1 attached).

Rep. Thissen withdrew Amendment H0651A1.

Rep. Huntley moved to amend HF 651 (see Amendment A05-0171A attached). THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.

Rep. Powell renewed his motion that HF 651 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law and Elections. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1465 (Finstad) A bill for an act relating to civil actions; providing limits on certain liability of long-term care providers; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 144A.

Rep. Finstad moved HF 1465 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law and Elections.

Rep. Finstad moved to amend HF 1465 (see Amendment H1465DE2 attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Finstad presented HF 1465.

Rep. Emmer moved to amend HF 1465 (see Amendment H1465A1 attached).

Rep. Emmer explained the amendment.

A vote was taken on Amendment H1465A1. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

The next meeting of the Health Policy & Finance Committee will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2005, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:00 Noon.
