MINUTES
Representative Bud Nornes, Chair of the Committee on Higher Education, called the nineteenth meeting to order at 12:34 PM on Wednesday, March 23, 2005, in Room 300S of the State Office Building.
The Clerk noted the roll.

12:51:19 PM Russ Stanton, Director of Government Relations for the IFO, responded to questions.

1:23:34 PM HF602 (Carlson) University of Minnesota and Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.
1:23:56 PM Rep. Carlson moved HF602 for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Finance Omnibus Bill.
1:24:17 PM Rep. Carlson incorporated his amendment: On lines 12 and 18, add "This is a one-time appropriation."
1:24:59 PM Rep. Carlson presented his bill.
1:28:29 PM Testifying on the bill:
Donna Peterson, University of Minnesota, supported the bill.
1:31:31 PM Laura King, Vice Chancellor, MnSCU, supported the bill.
1:33:30 PM Brad Krasaway, State Chair, Minnesota State University Student Association (MSUSA), supported the bill.
1:34:54 PM Tricia Grimes, Higher Education Services Office (HESO), clarified the bill.
1:38:04 PM CHAIR NORNES RENEWED THE MOTION AND LAID HF602 OVER, AS AMENDED, FOR POSSIBLE INCLUSION IN THE HIGHER EDUCATION FINANCE OMNIBUS BILL.
1:38:27 PM Chair Nornes adjourned the meeting.
