Representative Bud Nornes, Chair of the Committee on Higher Education, called the thirty-fifth meeting to order at 12:34 PM on Wednesday, April 5, 2006, in Room 300S of the State Office Building.
The Clerk noted the roll.

12:34:56 PM Chair Nornes called the meeting to order.
12:35:38 PM HF 4039 (Nornes) Minnesota State Colleges and Universities technical provisions modified, and authority to control receipts granted. Chair Nornes moved HF 4039 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill. Judy Borgen, MnSCU Associate Vice Chancellor, Budget, presented the bill.

12:38:11 PM Judy Borgen presented the MnSCU Supplemental Budget Request.
12:49:14 PM Hal Kimball, Chair of MSUSA, testified against the provided Budget Request.
12:53:47 PM HF 3975 (Urdahl) University of Minnesota supplemental funding provided and money appropriated. Rep. Urdahl moved that HF 3975 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.
Rep. Urdahl presented his bill.
12:55:56 PM Dr. Jeff Klaustner, Dean of Vet Medicine, University of Minnesota, testified in support of the bill.

1:45:45 PM HF 2798 (Heidgerken) English pronunciation policy required as a condition of instructing students at public postsecondary institutions. Rep. Pelowski moved HF 2798 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.
