MINUTES
Representative Mark Olson, Chair of the House Local Government Committee, called the thirty-second meeting to order at 1:18 P. M. on Wednesday, March 8, 2006, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.
The clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
The Chair noted a memo from House Research analyst Jeffrey Diebel, dated March 8, 2006, regarding Sanctuary Laws - Representative Lenczewski’s Question, was included in each members’ folder for today.
WARDLOW, Lynn moved the minutes of March 2, 2006, be approved as prepared by the clerk. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF2553 (Thissen) Metropolitan Airports Commission included in the oversight responsibilities of the Legislative Commission on Metropolitan Government.
HILSTROM, Debra moved to recommend HF2553 pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations and Veterans Affairs.
At the request of the Chief Author, HILSTROM, Debra moved to recommend HF2553 be amended as follows:
Page 2, line 15, strike “and” and insert “. The Metropolitan Council”
Page 2, line 16, after “to” insert “the Metropolitan Council to”
The Hilstrom Motion Prevailed.
The following provided testimony on and responded to the Committee’s questions regarding HF2553 as amended:
Representative Paul Thissen; and Jeffrey W. Hamiel, Executive Director, Metropolitan Airports Commission, 6040 28th Av S, Minneapolis, MN, 55450-2799.
CHARRON, Mike moved to recommend HF2553 be further amended as follows:
On Page 2, delete section 3.
Correct the title numbers accordingly.
The Charron Motion Prevailed.
There being no further testimony pro or con, the question reoccurred on the Hilstrom Motion as amended to recommend HF2553 be amended, and when so amended, pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Governmental Operations and Veterans Affairs. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Without objection the meeting was adjourned at 2:16 P. M.
