MINUTES
Representative Mark Olson, Chair of the Local Government Committee, called the fortieth meeting to order at 12:35 P.M. on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.
The clerk noted the roll.

SAMUELSON, Char moved the Minutes of March 20, 2006 be approved as prepared by the clerk. THE MOTION PREVAILED
HF3302 (Brod ) Municipal and county planning and zoning provisions modified.
OLSON, Mark moved to recommend HF3302 pass.
At the request of the Chief Author Olson moved to recommend HF3302 be amended as follows:

There being no further testimony, pro or con, the question reoccurred on the Olson Motion as amended, to recommend HF3302 be amended, and when so amended be recommended to pass. THE MOTION PREVAILED
HF2965 (Vandeveer) Local government requirements for use of nonconforming lots limited.
The Olson Motion to recommend HF2965 be amended, and when so amended be recommended to pass was again before the committee.

At the request of the maker of the motion and without objection the Olson Motion was further amended to recommend HF2965 be re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources.
There being no further testimony, pro or con, the question reoccurred on the Olson Motion as amended to recommend HF2965 be amended, and when so amended be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

At the request of the Chief Author, consideration of HF3274 was postponed temporarily.
HF0587 (Buesgens) Quarterly Election Day Act of 2005 established, providing for election days for state and local elections other than special elections to fill a vacancy.
OLSON, Mark moved to recommend HF0587 pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law and Elections.
Representative Mark Buesgens provided testimony on and responded to the Committee’s questions regarding HF0587.

At the request of the Chief Author, HF3274 and the Olson Motion were laid on the table.
Annexation
The Chair noted: (1) there was a new draft (see DD149 attached) regarding a possible committee bill on annexation included in the members packets; and, (2) it is the Chairs intention that the Committee conclude work on annexation during the March 23, 2006, meeting.
Without objection the meeting was adjourned at 5:07 P.M.
