PUBLIC SAFETY POLICY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE
MINUTES
Representative Steve Smith, Chair of the Public Safety Policy and Finance Committee, called the tenth meeting to order at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2005 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.
The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Rep. Johnson moved the minutes from the February 1, 2005 Public Safety Policy and Finance Meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Rep. Cornish moved the minutes from the February 2, 2005 Public Safety Policy and Finance Meeting. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Rep. Smith removed the following bonding bills from the table and recommends them to pass with a favorable committee recommendation to the Committee on Capital Investment.
HF452 (Brod) relating to Minnesota Correctional Facility - Faribault Phase 1 expansion bonds issued and money appropriated.
HF469 (Charron) relating to Stillwater correctional facility high security unit funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.
Rep. Smith removed the following from the table and recommends them with a neutral committee recommendation to the Committee on Capital Investment.
HF208 (Gunther) relating to Blue Earth fire and police station funding provided, bonds issued, and money provided.
HF484 (Demmer) relating to Rochester Regional Public Safety Training Center live burn training simulator funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.
Rep. Smith renewed his motion to pass the recommendations above to the Committee on Capital Investment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Rep. Ellison moved HFXXXX (See attached) relating to expanding the Minnesota Correctional Facility – Willow River.
Rep. Ellison presented HFXXXX.
Rep. Ellsion renewed his motion to forward HFXXXX as a favorable committee recommendation to the Committee on Capital Investment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Following adjournment the committee will tour of the Minnesota Coalition of Battered Women headquarters, informal hearing on the lethality of strangulation in domestic violence
