Representative Steve Smith, Chair of the Public Safety Policy and Finance Committee, called the forty-third meeting to order at 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2006 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Informational Hearing on HF1014 (Clark) relating to impaired driving and chemical dependency counteraction initiative provided, alcoholic beverage tax increased, obsolete language eliminated, technical corrections provided, and money appropriated.

Rep. Smith moved HF2953 (Smith) relating to courts funding provided to better address alcohol and other drug-addicted offenders.

Rep. Smith presented HF2953.

Testifying on HF2953:

Sue Dosal, State Court Administrator

Rep. Eastlund laid HF2953 over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Omnibus Bill.

Rep. Smith moved HF3198 relating to crime and drug abuse prevention media campaign funding provided, and money appropriated.
