MINUTES
Rep. Torrey Westrom, Chair of the Regulated Industries Committee, called the ninth meeting to order at 2:35 p.m. on March 9, 2005 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Rep. Peterson moved approval of the minutes for March 2, 2005. The motion prevailed.
Rep. Westrom moved that the following House Files be referred to the Liquor Subcommittee for review and committee action: HF 1484, HF 1538, HF 1546. The motion prevailed.
Rep. Westrom moved that the following House File be referred to the Gaming Division for review and committee action: HF 1579. The motion prevailed.
HF 934 (Brod) Compulsive gambling prevention and education funding provided, and money appropriated.
Rep. Westrom moved adoption of the Gaming Division Report regarding HF 934. The motion prevailed.

Rep. Hoppe moved that HF 934 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Health Policy & Finance Committee. The motion prevailed.
Rep. Simpson provided a brief overview of energy/transmission legislation introduced prior to the committee meeting (Rev. 05-3249).
Rep. Westrom provided committee time for further testimony from proponents and opponents of the various energy/transmission proposals.
