Rep. Torrey Westrom, Chair of the Regulated Industries Committee, called the sixteenth meeting to order at 2:30 p.m. on April 12, 2005 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

Rep. Erickson moved approval of the minutes for April 6, 2005. The motion prevailed.
SF 1064/HF 1214 (Knoblach) Blind and disabled persons accessible electronic information service established and money appropriated.
Rep. Westrom moved that HF 1214, as amended, be brought before the committee for reconsideration.
Rep. Westrom moved to amend HF 1214, (H1214A3 amendment).
Chuck Hamilton, State Services for the Blind, testified before the committee regarding the proposed H1214A3 amendment.
Rep. Westrom withdrew the H1214A3 amendment to HF 1214, as amended.
Rep. Erickson moved the following technical amendment to HF 1214, as amended:
Insert “Section 6. [SUNSET.]
Insert New Language to Section 6: “Sections 1 – 5 expire June 30, 2010”
Amendment Adopted.
Rep. Westrom moved that HF 1214, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the committee on Ways & Means. The motion prevailed.
HF 1319 (Beard) Additional cable franchise requirements modified.
Rep. Westrom brought HF 1319 before the committee for discussion.

HF 1579 (Westrom) Telecommunications standard provider contracts authorized.
Rep. Westrom moved that HF 1579 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.
Rep. Erickson moved to amend HF 1579 (H1579A1).
Ed Garvey, Deputy Commissioner, Department of Commerce, testified before the committee regarding the proposed H1579A1 amendment.
Rep. Erickson renewed the motion to amend HF 1579 (H1579A1 amendment). The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.
