MINUTES
Rep. Andy Westerberg, Chair of the Regulated Industries – Gaming Division, called the meeting to order at 2:35 p.m. on March 8, 2005 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Rep. Hoppe moved approval of the minutes for March 1, 2005. The motion prevailed.
House Counsel provided an overview of gambling, gambling compacts and negotiations.
The committee heard a presentation by Lana Oleen, former Senate Majority Leader for the Kansas Senate promoting intergovernmental cooperation between states and tribes by researching, assessing and disseminating information about how devolution will affect Indian tribes and the state’s tribal relationship.
Rep. Atkins assumed the gavel at 3:50 p.m.
Testimony by Lana Oleen continued.
Rep. Westerberg assumed the gavel at 4:00 p.m.
Rep. Westerberg extended the committee time to allow for testimony from the audience.
