MINUTES


Representative Erik Paulsen, Chair of the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration called the seventeenth meeting to order at 9:59 A.M. on Friday, May 13, 2005, in Room 118 of the State Capitol.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

The first matter under consideration was the approval of the minutes from the meeting on Monday, May 9, 2005.

Rep. Hosch moved that the minutes be approved.

The MOTION PREVAILED; THE MINUTES FROM THE MEETING ON MONDAY, MAY 9, 2005 WERE APPROVED.

The second matter under consideration was H.R.13 (Cornish).

Rep. Paulsen moved that H.R.13 be adopted.

Rep. Cornish presented H.R.13.

Rep. Paulsen renewed his motion that H.R. 13 be adopted.

The MOTION PREVAILED; H.R.13 WAS RECOMMENDED TO BE ADOPTED.

The third matter under consideration was S.F.1940 (Beard).

Rep. Paulsen moved that S.F.1940 be recommended to pass.

Rep. Beard explained why S.F.1940 did not meet committee deadlines.

Discussion.


Rep. Paulsen renewed his motion that S.F.1940 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

The MOTION PREVAILED; S.F.1940 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND BE PLACED ON THE GENERAL REGISTER.

The fourth matter under consideration was H.F.1391 (Cox).

Rep. Paulsen moved that H.F. 1391 be recommended to pass and, pursuant to Joint Rule 2.03, be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Rep. Cox explained why H.F.1391 did not meet committee deadlines.

Rep. Paulsen renewed his motion that H.F. 1391 be recommended to pass and, pursuant to Joint Rule 2.03, be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

The MOTION PREVAILED; H.F. 1391 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND, PURSUANT TO JOINT RULE 2.03, WAS RE-REFERRED TO THE COMMITTEE ON WAYS AND MEANS.

The fifth matter under consideration was H.F.2243 (Seifert).

Rep. Seifert moved that H.F. 2243 be recommended to pass and, pursuant to Joint Rule 2.03, be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Rep. Seifert explained why H.F.2243 did not meet committee deadlines.

Rep. Seifert renewed his motion that H.F. 2243 be recommended to pass and, pursuant to Joint Rule 2.03, be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

The MOTION PREVAILED; H.F.2243 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND, PURSUANT TO JOINT RULE 2.03, WAS RE-REFERRED TO THE COMMITTEE ON WAYS AND MEANS.

The sixth matter under consideration was H.F.2480 (Finstad).

Rep. Sertich moved that H.F.2480 be recommended to pass and, pursuant to Joint Rule 2.03, be re-referred to the Committee on Local Government.

Rep. Finstad explained why H.F.2480 did not meet committee deadlines.

Discussion

Rep. Sertich renewed his motion that H.F2480 be recommended to pass and, pursuant to Joint Rule 2.03, be re-referred to the Committee on Local Government.

The MOTION PREVAILED; H.F.2480 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND, PURSUANT TO JOINT RULE 2.03, WAS RE-REFERRED TO THE COMMITTEE ON LOCAL GOVERNMENT.

The meeting adjourned at 10:09 A.M.
