MINUTES
Representative Al Juhnke, Chair, called the twenty-fifth meeting to order at 10:15AM on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 in Basement of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative Peterson moved that the minutes of February 19, 2008 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF 2791; a bill relating to capital improvements; appropriating money for a veterans home in Kandiyohi County; authorizing the sale and issuance of state bonds.
Chair Juhnke moved that HF 2791 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on Capital Investment.
Chair Juhnke moved the H2791DE1 amendment (attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Chair Juhnke presented the H2791DE1 amendment. Discussion and questions followed.
Chair Juhnke renewed the motion that HF 2791, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Finance with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on Capital Investment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF2683; a bill relating to agriculture; modifying the expiration date for the Minnesota Agriculture Education Leadership Council; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 41D.01, subdivision 4.
Representative Otremba moved that HF 2683 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance.
Julie Tesch, Executive Director, Minnesota Agricultural Education Leadership Council, testified on HF 2683.
Discussion and questions followed.

Dr. Bill Hartman, Executive Director, Minnesota Board of Animal Health, Joe Martin, Assistant Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Agriculture, and Ed Boggess, Deputy Director fish & Wildlife, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, presented information on Bovine Tuberculosis in the state of Minnesota.
