MINUTES
Representative Tom Rukavina, Chair of the Higher Education and Workforce Development Policy and Finance Division, called the meeting to order at 12:35 P.M. on, Tuesday, January 16, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Bly moved that the minutes of January 11, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative Rukavina asked the students present to begin their testimony, as follows:
Justin McMartin, Chair of the Minnesota State University Student Association and a student at Southwest Minnesota State University, provided testimony regarding his personal experiences with Minnesota's higher education and financial aid systems. Mr. McMartin responded to questions from members.
Richard Howden III, a student at Winona State University, provided testimony regarding his personal experiences with Minnesota's higher education and financial aid systems. Mr. Howden responded to questions from members.
Casey Carmody, a student at Minnesota State University Mankato, provided testimony regarding his personal experience with Minnesota's higher education and financial aid systems. Mr. Carmody responded to questions from members.
Jennifer Ohren, a student at Minnesota State University Moorhead, provided testimony regarding her personal experiences with Minnesota's higher education and financial aid systems. Ms. Ohren responded to questions from members.
Lee Trotman, a student at Southwest Minnesota State University, provided testimony regarding her personal experiences with Minnesota's higher education and financial aid systems. Mr. Trotman responded to questions from members.
Clare Ware, a student at Metropolitan State University, provided testimony regarding her personal experiences with Minnesota's higher education and financial aid systems. Ms. Ware responded to questions from members.

Kara Brockett, s student at Southwest Minnesota State University and the student body president, provided testimony regarding her personal experiences with Minnesota's higher education and financial aid systems. Ms. Brockett responded to questions from members.
