Representative Terry Morrow, Vice-Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:17PM on March 20, 2007, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

Representative Dominguez moved the minutes of March 16, 2007 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED AS CORRECTED.
HF2021 (Brynaert) A bill for an act relating to education; appropriating money to the independent Office of Educational Accountability through the University of Minnesota; directing the Office of Educational Accountability to convene measurement experts to consider how school performance report card data are most usefully displayed.
Representative Morrow moved HF2021 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Finance Bill.
Representative Morrow moved to amend HF2021 as follows:
Page 2, line 2, after the semicolon insert ‘and'
Page 2, delete lines 3 to 6
Page 2, line 7, delete ‘5’ and insert ‘4’
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Erickson moved to incorporate an oral amendment to HF2021 as follows:
Page 3, line 28, after ‘;’ insert ‘two parents selected by the Minnesota PTA;’
THE AMENDMENT WAS INCORPORATED.

Representative Swails moved HF810 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Finance Bill.

Representative Heidgerken moved to amend HF420 as follows:
Page 2, after line 29, insert ‘(c) A student who participates in a junior varsity or varsity sport throughout the sport season satisfies the one-half physical education credit requirement under clause (6).’
THE MOTION FAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.
