Representative Jean Wagenius, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:04 A.M. on February 1, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

A quorum was present at 8:07 A.M.
Robert Elde, Dean, College of Biological Sciences and Executive Committee Chair, Initiative for Renewable Energy and the Environment at the University of Minnesota, testified on the topic of cellulosic biofuel research and production.
John Sheehan, Senior Strategic Analyst, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, United States Department of Energy, testified on the topic of cellulosic biofuel research and production.
Alexander Farrell, Assistant Professor, Energy and Resources Group and Director, Transportation Sustainability Research Center at the University of California - Berkeley, testified on the topic of California's climate change strategy.
Eric Larson, Research Engineer, Princeton Environmental Institute at Princeton University, testified on the topic of biofuel technologies.
