SUBCOMMITTEE ON DRINKING WATER SOURCE PROTECTION

APPROVED MINUTES

Chair Paul Gardner called the meeting to order at 12:42 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in room 500 North of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Presentation Brian Hoffman, Director of Inspections for St. Louis Park presented on vapor contamination of groundwater.

Presentation Tom Watson, Mayor of North Oaks presented on groundwater contamination.

Handouts were distributed to subcommittee members:
How City and Other Local Officials Cope with Drinking Water in Their Communities

Presentation Dean Johnston, Mayor of Lake Elmo, presented on groundwater contamination.

A quorum was present at 12:32 p.m.

Presentation Peg Larsen, City Councilmember of Lakeland, presented on groundwater contamination.

Representative Clark moved approval of meeting minutes from November 8, 2007 and December 19, 2007.
The motion prevailed and meeting minutes were approved.

Testimony Judy Ohannesian, resident of North Oaks, spoke about the effects of groundwater contamination in her household.

The meeting adjourned at 1:52 p.m.
