Chair Thomas Huntley began the forty-eighth meeting at 12:57 p.m. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in Room 200 of the State Office Building without a quorum present.
HF 3167 (Johnson) - Senior nutrition funding clarification provided.
Representative Sheldon Johnson presented his bill.
At 1:00 p.m. Vice-chair Hosch assumed the gavel while Representative Huntley presented:
SF 2564, the 1st engrossment - relating to human services; modifying TANF maintenance of effort programs

At 1:07 p.m. a quorum was present and Vice-chair Hosch called the forty-eighth meeting officially to order. The clerk noted the roll:

The Vice-chair moved SF 2564 be recommended to pass and referred to the Committee on Finance. Discussion occurred.
The Vice-chair introduced 9th grade students from St. Louis Park High School, St. Louis Park, Minnesota, who were in the audience and visiting the Capitol participating in the Minnesota Historical Society Capitol Historic Site's "Voice for the People: Your Role in Minnesota Government" tour and education program.
Discussion of SF 2564 continued. Representative Huntley renewed his motion that SF 2564 be recommended to pass and referred to the Committee on Finance.
Representative Thao moved approval of the February 20, February 27, and March 4, 2008 minutes. The motion prevailed. The minutes were approved.
Vice-chair Hosch moved HF 3167 be recommended to pass and referred to the Committee on Finance. Discussion continued and members heard testimony from:

Rolf Hage, Board on Aging, DHS
Vice-chair Hosch renewed his motion that SF 2564 be recommended to pass and referred to the Committee on Finance. The motion prevailed.
Vice-chair Hosch adjourned the meeting at 1:29 p.m.
