MINUTES
Representative Karen Clark, Chair, called the first meeting to order at 10:03 a.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2007 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Clark called the meeting to order at 10:03 a.m.
A quorum was present.
Announcements regarding the establishment of two subcommittees, Environmental Health and Healthy Housing, and regarding the shelter tour were made.
Representative Benson moved that the minutes of January 23, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative McFarlane moved that the minutes of January 17, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Margaret Kelly, Assistant Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Health, introduced the director of the Infectious Disease and Epidemiology Department.
Craig Acomb, Director of Infectious Disease and Epidemiology, provided an overview of the department.
Margaret Kelly, Assistant Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Health, introduced the acting director of the Public Health Lab.
Chris Everson, Acting Director of the Public Health Lab, provided an overview of the department.
The committee acknowledged the 9th - 12th grade students visiting from the Minnesota Internship Center.
Margaret Kelly, Assistant Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Health, introduced the director of the Office of Emergency Preparedness.
Aggie Leitheiser, Director of the Office of Emergency Preparedness, provided an overview of the department.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:35 a.m.
