MINUTES


Representative Dave Olin, Co-Chair of the Public Safety Finance Division Committee, called the forty-seventh meeting to order at 8:05 a.m., Wednesday, March 19, 2008 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF3132 (Mullery) Animal fighting provisions changed.

Rep. Mullery moved HF3132.

Testifying on behalf of HF3132:

Rep. Mullery renewed the motion that HF3132 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance with a recommended re-referral to the General Register. MOTION PREVAILED.


HF2787 (Mullery) Private actions on behalf of one or more persons alleging unlawful business.

Rep. Mullery moved HF2787.

Chair Paymar renewed the motion that HF2787 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Division supplemental budget bill. MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3498 (Berns) Firefighter Training and Education Board member compensation authorized.

Rep. Bigham moved HF3498.

Testifying on behalf of HF3498:
Jerry Rosendahl, State Fire Marshall

Rep. Bigham renewed the motion that HF3498, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance with a recommended re-referral to the General Register. MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3505 (Bigham) Animal fighting provisions changed.

Rep. Mullery moved HF3132.

Rep. Bigham renewed the motion that HF3505, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance with a recommended re-referral to the General Register. MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3863 (Thissen) Official traffic control camera device automatic enforcement authorized.

Chair Paymar moved HF3863.

Chair Paymar moved an oral amendment to HF3863 as follows:
Page 4, line 6, delete "2011" and insert "2010".
Page 4, line 8, after 2010, insert a "period" and delete "except that subdivision 5 expires January 16, 2011.".
THE ORAL AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Paymar renewed the motion that HF3863, as amended, be laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Division supplemental budget bill. MOTION PREVAILED.

HF3257 (Loeffler) Allowing a person facing civil commitment to chose to be confined in correctional facilities while petition is being adjudicated.

Chair Paymar moved HF3257.

A handout "Background Materials: HF3257", was given to division members.

Chair Paymar moved the H3257A4 amendment.
THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
