MINUTES
Representative Hornstein, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order
at 2:21 P.M. on Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

HF 3589 (Madore) Hazardous materials, school bus endorsement, and commercial vehicle operation federal conformity provided. Rep. Adkins presented the bill on behalf of the chief author. Pat McCormack, Department of Vehicle Services (DVS) Director, Dept. of Public Safety (DPS) assisted in presenting the bill. Rep. Hornstein moved that HF 3589 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Transportation Finance committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF2966 (Nelson) State hospitals and institutions and county social service agencies authorized to operate vehicles exempt from payment of registration tax and fees. Larry Ollila, DVS, assisted in presenting the bill. Rep. Nelson moved that HF 2966 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Transportation Finance committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF2873 (Nelson) USDOT carrier numbers provisions modified governing requirement and use.

HF2372 (Eken) Trailer and tractor semiannual registration established. Rep. Hornstein moved the
H2372DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Larry Ollila, DVS, responded to committee questions on the bill. Rep. Hornstein moved that HF 2372, as amended, be recommended to pass and returned to the Transportation Finance committee.
HF2460 (Dill) Provisional driver's license additional training requirements specified, and criminal penalty imposed for falsifying requirements. Rep. Hornstein moved the H2460A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. The following spoke to the legislation:
