MINUTES
Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the Governmental Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:00 A.M. on Tuesday February 26, 2008, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative Morgan moved that the minutes of February 20, 2008, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Scheduled for hearing: H. F. 3023 (Simon)
A bill for an act relating to elections; proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, article VI, sections 7 and 8; establishing and modifying procedures for filling judicial vacancies; creating a judicial performance commission; creating a commission on appellate judicial selection; etc.
Chairman Pelowski moved that HF 3023 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety and Civil Justice.
Representative Simon moved to amend HF 3023 (see attached
H3023DE1). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

H3023DE1 amendment.
