MINUTES
Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the Governmental Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:05 A.M. on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Morgan moved that the minutes of March 12, 2008, be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

A bill for an act relating to construction professions; modifying provisions relating to the electrical, plumbing, water conditioning, boiler, and high-pressure piping professions; etc.

Chairman Pelowski moved to amend SF 2402, Second Engrossment, as follows:
Page 15, after line 20, insert:
"Sec. 18. Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 326A.05, subdivision 5 is amended to
read:
Subd. 5. Fees. The board shall charge a fee for each application for initial
issuance or renewal of a permit under this section. A firm that is required to
hold a permit under this section and has one or more offices located in another
state shall pay an initial permit issuance fee of $100 and an annual renewal
fee of $68 per year."
Page 18, line 8, after the word "not", insert "a conviction was obtained or" and
after "withheld", insert "and whether or not dishonesty or fraud was an element
of the conduct"
Page 28, line 13, delete "31" and insert "32"
Renumber the sections in sequence and correct the internal references.
Amend the title accordingly
