MINUTES
Representative Ann Lenczewski, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:41 P.M. on Monday, March 17th, 2008, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Before the committee was HF3967. Ward Einess, Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Revenue, testified on HF3967.

Representative Simpson moved HF3967 be recommended to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.
Representative Simpson moved amendment
A08-1321 (ATTACHED). THE MOTION PREVAILED-THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
HF3967-Simpson-Various tax provisions modified; tax refund, withholding, and subtraction changes made; tax system and association created; adjustments provided, federal conforming changes made, and money appropriated.
Representative Zellers moved the minutes from February 26, 2008. THE MOTION PREVAILED-THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.
The following people testified in opposition to HF3967: Nan Madden, Director of the Minnesota Budget Project; Jessica Webster, Legal Aid; Bradley Peterson, Coalition of Utility Cities; Mara Humphrey, Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the Minnesota Credit Union Network; Gary Carlson, League of Minnesota Cities; Louis Jambois, Executive Director of the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities; Keith Carlson, Minnesota Inter-County Association; Joe Mathews, Association of Minnesota Counties; David Skilbred, Vice President of Government Relations at the Independent Community Bankers of Minnesota; Steven Johnson, Government Relations Director at the Minnesota Bankers Association, & Robyn Rowen, Minnesota Insurance & Financial Services Council.
Representative Simpson renewed his motion that HF3967 be recommended to be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Tax Bill.
