MINUTES
Representative Nora Slawik, Chair of the Early Childhood Finance & Policy Division, called the meeting to order at 4:35 pm on Tuesday, January 13th 2009, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Slawik asked the committee members and staff to introduce themselves.
Chair Slawik discussed the committee procedures.
Emily Adriaens, House Fiscal Analyst, presented an overview of the committee’s fiscal status.
Danyell LeMire, House Research Legislative Analyst, presented on the extent of the committee’s purview.
Presentation by the Minnesota Department of Education on the department programs in the committee’s purview:
Karen Carlson, Supervisor of Early Learning Services, Minnesota Department of Education
Barry Shaffer, Supervisor of Adult Basic Education, Minnesota Department of Education
Dan Smith, Supervisor of the Center for Postsecondary Success, Minnesota Department of Education
