Representative Mindy Greiling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:45PM on March 18, 2009, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

HF79 (Brown) A bill for an act relating to education; removing wind energy production tax from county apportionment deduction for school districts.
Representative Brown moved that HF79 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.
Representative Brown, Joe Brown, Superintendent, Grand Meadow Public Schools, Randy Gronseth, citizen, Sargeant, and Lisa Barnidge, State Planning Director, Minnesota Department of Education, testified.
Public testimony on HF79 was provided by the following individuals:

Representative Brown renewed her motion that HF79 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.
A quorum was present at 2:55pm.
Representative Garofalo moved the minutes of March 17, 2009 be adopted.

HF733 (Dill) A bill for an act relating to education finance; modifying eligibility criteria for school district swimming pool levies.
Representative Anzelc moved that HF733 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.
Representative Dill testified.
Representative Anzelc renewed his motion that HF777 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.
HF91 (Slocum) A bill for an act relating to education finance; modifying health and safety revenue to include elevator repair costs.
Representative Slocum moved that HF91 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.
Representative Slocum and Michael Schwartz, Business Manager, Richfield Public Schools, testified.
Representative Slocum renewed her motion that HF91 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.
HF777 (Shimanski) A bill for an act relating to education finance; defining similar departments for purposes of the pupil transportation equal treatment statute.
Representative Greiling moved that HF777 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.
Representative Shimanksi, Dean Scheele, Principal, Emmanuel Lutheran School, Brian Milbrand, citizen, Glencoe, and Glenn Gruenhagen, School Board Member, Glencoe-Silver Lake School District, testified.
