Representative Mary Murphy, Chair, called the tenth meeting to order at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2009 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Eken moved that the minutes of February 16, 2009 be adopted

Chair Murphy instructed the committee and audience to come together in their small groups from last Monday’s meeting and prioritize the three most important goals from each group

David Kelliher of Saint Paul, Minnesota Historical Society, presented his group’s top three goals
Brenda Raney of Saint Paul, Science Museum of Minnesota, presented her group’s top three goals
Tom Murphy of Saint Paul, Science Museum of Minnesota, presented his group’s top three goals

Mark Shepard, House Research, testified to his memo on the issue of supplementation versus supplantation
Mr. Shepard answered questions from the committee
Chair Murphy invited members of the committee and audience to submit differing opinions on the issue of supplementation versus supplantation in writing to Phil Chen by Friday, February 27, 2009
Mr. Shepard testified to his memo on the terms used in Article XI, Section 15 of the Constitution
The meeting was adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
