Representative Michael Paymar, Chair of the Public Safety Finance Division Committee, called the thirty-third meeting to order at 9:02 a.m., Thursday, March 11, 2010, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

HF 1270, Short-term offender pilot project development required, county of community corrections departments authorized to develop pilot-project for short-term offender commitments, and reports provided.
Chair moved to recommend HF 1270 be passed and re-referred to the Finance Committee.

H1270A4 (attached). Rep. Kohls moved to incorporate the following amendment:
Line 1.5 delete "or implement"
Line 1.6 delete the sentence
Line 1.7 delete "safety"
Rep. Kohls renewed amendment H1270A4 with oral amendment incorporated. Motion prevailed and THE amendment WAS adopted.
Rep. Hilstrom moved to incorporate the following amendment in amendment H1270A4:
Line 1.5 after "positions" insert ", treatment, education, or re-entry programs"
Motion prevailed and the amendment to amendment H1270A4 was adopted.
