Representative Hornstein, Chair of the Transportation and Transit Policy and Oversight Division, called the meeting to order at 1:05 P.M. on Wednesday, February 11, 2009 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF267 (Hortman) Motor vehicle restraint required for child passengers under the age of eight and shorter than 4 feet 9 inches tall. Rep. Hortman moved adoption of the bill. The following assisted in presenting the bill:

Rep. Hortman moved adoption of the
H0267A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Rep. Holberg moved to amend HF267 with the following oral amendment:
Page 1, line 18, strike the second "may" and insert "must"
Page 1, line 19, strike "or the amount reduced"
THE MOTION PREVAILED. Rep. Hortman moved that HF267, as amended, be referred to the Public Safety Policy and Oversight Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative Champion moved the minutes from February 3, 2009 with the following amendment: On line two of the first paragraph delete 28 and insert 3. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Mike Schadauer, Passenger Rail Co-Project Manager, MnDOT Office of Transit continued with an update on their transit plan that was partially presented to the committee last week. Tom Godfried, MnDOT, assisted in presenting the report and answering committee member’s questions.
Mike Schadauer and Dave Christianson, MnDOT Office of Freight, Rail, & Waterways, Rail Plan Project Manager, gave an update regarding the Statewide Rail Plan.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:33 P.M.
