MINUTES
Representative Hornstein, Chair of the Transportation and Transit Policy and Oversight Division, called the meeting to order at 10:10 P.M. on Tuesday, October 13, 2009 in Room 10 of the State Office Building. The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Peggy Reichart, MnDOT, shared the MnDOT Statewide Transportation Policy Plan with the committee.
Sherry Munyon, Minnesota Public Transit Association, spoke to the committee regarding greater Minnesota transit funding. Peter Bell, Met Council Chair and Mike Shadauer, MnDOT Director, Office of Transit spoke to the issue.
Dan Krom, MnDOT Passenger and Freight Rail, shared a Statewide Rail Plan update.
Tim Geisler, Mayo Clinic, shared information from the Transportation Economics Management Systems Inc. (TEMS) regarding the southeastern Minnesota rail study.
Rep. Welti moved adoption of the minutes from April 1, 2009. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
The Northstar Line launch information was discussed by Peter Bell, Met Council Chair. Chair Bell further shared an update on the Central Corridor Light Rail Transit plan.
Judd Schetnan, Met Council, shared the Met Council Land Use and Planning Resources report update.
Brian Ryks, Executive Director of the Duluth Airport Authority spoke regarding the Airline Passenger Bill of Rights.
Chair Hornstein recessed the committee at 12:23 PM with the intention of reconvening at 1:05 PM. Rep. Hornstein called the meeting back to order at 1:10 PM.
