MINUTES



Representative Otremba, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:56 P.M. on, March 2, 2009, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Doty moved approval of the minutes from February 25, 2009.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Hamilton moves that HF797 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Taxes

HF797 (Emmer) relating to agriculture; clarifying that horses and other equines are livestock and raising them is an agricultural pursuit;

Representative Olin moves to amend HF797 as follows:

Page 1, Line 9, delete "Horses may be used for meat, hides, and animal by-products"
THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hamilton moved to amend the motion to move HF797 be referred to the General Register.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Hamilton renewed his motion that HF797 be recommended to pass, as amended and re-referred to the General Register.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Doty moves that HF841 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor.

HF841 (Juhnke) relating to agriculture; eliminating the sunset of the farmer-lender mediation law;
