CIVIL JUSTICE POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES



Representative Mullery, Chair, called the meeting to order at 8:40 A.M. on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Westrom moved approval of the Minutes for March 2, 2009. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Mullery announced that at the meeting of March 2, 2009, it was Representative Champion’s intent to vote for Representative Hilstrom’s motion regarding HF130-1E wherein a Roll Call vote was taken. However, the Roll was closed before Representative Champion could change his vote from "Pass" to "Aye".

Representative Jackson moved adoption of the A09-0074 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1156 (Paymar): A bill for an act relating to civil law; authorizing referees to preside over conciliation courts; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 491A.03, subdivision 1.

Representative Paymar moved adoption of the H1156A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Paymar presented his bill.

Representative Paymar moved that HF1156 be recommended to pass, as amended, and when so passed be re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF211 (Swails): A bill for an act relating to civil actions; statutory housing warranties; regulating recovery for breaches; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 327A.05.

Representative Mullery moved HF211 before the committee.

Representative Swails presented her bill.
