MINUTES
Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the State & Local Government Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 25, 2010, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Poppe moved that the minutes of February 24, 2010, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Chairman Pelowski moved that HF2899 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Civil Justice.
Chairman Pelowski moved to amend HF2899 (see attached
H2899DE1). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Chairman Pelowski presented HF2899 (Pelowski), as amended, a bill for an act relating to data practices; providing an administrative remedy for certain data practices and open meetings law violations; providing civil penalties; appropriating money; etc.

Chairman Pelowski moved that HF440 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.
Chairman Pelowski moved to amend HF440 (see attached
H0440A2). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Eken presented HF440 (Eken), as amended, a bill for an act proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, article VII, by adding a section; providing for certain officers to be elected by a majority of the votes cast at the general election for the office.
Chairman Pelowski renewed the motion that HF440, as amended, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION FAILED.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:52 A.M.
