MINUTES
Representative Gene Pelowski, Chair of the State & Local Government Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:31 A.M. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Poppe moved that the minutes of April 7, 2009, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative Simon moved that HF2552 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.
Representative Simon presented HF2552 (Simon), a bill for an act relating to elections, changing the date of the state primary; changing certain primary-related dates and provisions; etc.
Representative Simon moved to amend HF2552 (see attached
H2552DE1).
Representative Simon moved an amendment to amendment H2552DE1 (see attached
H2552A1). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Simon renewed the motion to amend HF2552 (see attached H2552DE1 as amended). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT, AS AMENDED, WAS ADOPTED.

Page 4, delete Sec. 7

Page 8, line 25, reinstate "On" and delete the new language and after "1" insert"
May 1"
Page 8, line 31, reinstate "By" and delete the new language and after "15" insert"
May 15"
Page 21, delete sections 50 and 51 and insert:
"Sec. 51. EFFECTIVE DATE.
This act is effective the day following final enactment."
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Simon moved to amend HF2552, as amended, as follows:
Page 13, delete Sec. 29
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Simon renewed the motion that HF2552, as amended, be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
