Representative Jim Davnie, Chair of the Division, called the meeting to order at 8:40 A.M. on May 11, 2009, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Mahoney MOVED HF 2362 (Mahoney), State building code preemption exemption created in certain cases, and advisory committee established.
Testimony was given by the following: Representative Mahoney; Tom Joachim, Assistant Commissioner, Department of Labor and Industry; Rachel Tierney, Assistant City Attorney, City of St. Paul, Department of Safety and Inspections; Tom Gruudhoefer, League of Minnesota Cities General Counsel; Henry Reimer, Director of Inspections, City of Minneapolis; John Horner, Minnesota Multi-Housing Association; Lisa Frenette, Builder’s Association; Heather Mavencamp, Director of Government Affairs, Minnesota Association of Realtors; Bill McGaughey, Minneapolis; Jim Swartwood, Minneapolis; Leslie Lucht, St. Paul; Jacob Wiechmann, St. Paul; and Bob Gausman, West St. Paul.
Representative Mahoney renews the motion that HF 2362 be recommended to pass and returned to the Committee on Commerce. MOTION PREVAILED.
