MINUTES
Representative Hoppe, Chair of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:36 pm on April 27, 2011, in the Basement hearing room of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative Johnson moved to approve the minutes for April 26, 2011. The motion prevailed.
Representative Mazorol moved HF1530 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the General Register.
Ron Blitenthal, Vice President and Governmental Affairs Counsel Old Republic National Title Insurance Company testified.
Representative Mazorol renewed his motion that HF1530 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the General Register. The motion prevailed.
Representative Mazorol moved HF0730 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the Public Safety Committee.
Bob Johnson from the Insurance Federation of MN testified.
Joel Carlson from the MN Association for Justice testified.
Representative Atkins moved an oral amendment. After line 2.27 insert "(g) Paragraph D only applies to individuals who knowingly fail to pay their auto insurance premiums."
Representative Atkins requested a roll-call vote on the oral amendment.
The following members voted in favor of the motion:
SANDERS, ATKINS, ANCELC, DITTRICH, JOHNSON, LILLIE, MULLERY, NELSON, O’DRISCOLL, SLOCUM, TILLBERRY.
The following members voted against the motion:
HOPPE, DIANE ANDERSON, SARAH ANDERSON, CRAWFORD, DAUDT, DAVIDS, KIEFFER, LOON, MAZOROL, MURDOCK, STENSRUD.
There being 11 ayes and 11 nays. The motion did not prevail. The amendment was not adopted.
Representative Mazorol renewed his motion that HF0730 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Public Safety Committee.
Representative Mullery requested a roll-call vote on the motion.
The following members voted in favor of the motion:
HOPPE, SANDERS, DIANE ANDERSON, SARAH ANDERSON, CRAWFORD, DAUDT, DAVIDS, DITTRICH, KIEFFER, LOON, MAZOROL, MURDOCK, O’DRISCOLL, STENSRUD.
