MINUTES

Representative Hoppe, Chair of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:35 p.m. on March 21, 2012, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Loon moved HF2544 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Loon moved amendment H2544A1. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

John Fielding from U.S. Travel Insurance Association testified.

Representative Loon renewed her motion that HF2544 be recommended to pass as amended and re-referred to the General Register. The motion prevailed.

Representative Stensrud moved the minutes for March 20, 2012. The motion prevailed.

Representative Stensrud moved the minutes for March 14, 2012. The motion prevailed.

Representative Hoppe moved HF2003 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Woodard introduced HF2003.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion that HF2003 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee Ways and Means. The motion prevailed.

Representative Hoppe moved SF1599 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Kriesel introduced SF1599.

Gary Keiser from United Veterans Legislative Council testified.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion. The motion prevailed.

Representative Hoppe handed the gavel to Representative Daudt at 2:49 pm.

Representative Hoppe moved HF2932.

Joe Bagnoli from MN Licensed Beverage Association testified.

The chair laid the bill over for possible inclusion in the liquor omnibus bill.

Representative Daudt handed the gavel back to Representative Hoppe at 2:54 pm.

Representative Kieffer moved HF2894.

Representative Kieffer moved an oral amendment to delete sections 2 and 3. The motion prevailed. The oral amendment was adopted.

Laura Kushner (MN League of Cities) testified.

Keith Carlson (MN Inter-County Association) testified.

John Rajkowski from MN Department of Labor and Industry testified.

Representative Hamilton introduced HF0383.

Representative Hoppe moved amendment H0383DE2.

Representative Hoppe handed the gavel to Representative Sanders at 3:35 pm.

Jerry Seck from Minneapolis Radiation and Oncology testified.

Representative Sanders moved HF2732 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Jobs and Economic Development.

Representative Sanders moved amendment H2732A1. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion that HF2732 be recommended to pass as amended and re-referred to the Committee on Jobs and Economic Development. The motion prevailed.

Representative Atkins moved HF2784 and recommended that it be passed and re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Atkins moved amendment H2784DE3. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Atkins moved amendment H2784A2. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Atkins moved amendment H2784A6.

Representative Atkins incorporated changes to amendment H2784A6. On line 1.19, strike "or" and insert "and." On line 2.9, strike "are" and insert "is." On line 2.10, after "available" insert "at that location."

Todd Iverson (University of Minnesota) testified.

Representative Atkins renewed his motion on the amended amendment H2784A6. The motion prevailed. The amendment was adopted.

Representative Sanders moved an oral amendment. On line 4.17 of amendment H2784DE3. Strike "act" insert "section." The motion prevailed.

Representative renewed his motion that HF2784 be recommended to pass as amended and re-referred to the General Register. The motion prevailed.
