MINUTES
A quorum was present and Representative Erickson, Chair of the Education Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:17 AM on January 26th, 2012, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF1585 (Anderson, P) Minnesota State High School League; time period reduced for good faith effort before interscholastic conference membership arrangement.
Chair Erickson moved that HF 1585 be recommended to pass and be placed on the general register. Chair Erickson moved the H1585DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Anderson presented the bill and stood for questions.

Representative Kiel moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on April 28th, 2011, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.
Representative Doepke assumed the gavel at 8:35 AM.
HF 300 (Erickson) Early childhood development screening comprehensive eye exams recommended.
Chair Erickson moved that HF 300 be recommended to pass and be placed on the general register. Chair Erickson moved the
H0300DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Chair Erickson presented the bill and stood for questions.

HF 1770 (Kieffer) Teacher candidates required to pass basic skills exam.
Representative Kieffer moved that HF 1770 be recommended to pass and be placed on the general register. Representative Kieffer moved the
H1770A4 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Kieffer presented the bill and stood for questions. Representative Kath moved the
H1770A6 amendment and requested a roll call vote.
