MINUTES
A quorum was present and Representative Erickson, Chair of the Education Reform Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:16 AM on February 14, 2011, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Peterson, S, moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on February 9, 2011, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.
HF 2127 (Myhra) Online learning parameters modified, and digital learning provided.
Chair Erickson moved that HF 2127 be recommended to pass and be placed on the general register. Representative Myhra moved the
H2127DE4 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative Myhra presented the bill and stood for questions.
Representative Greiling moved to send HF 2127 to the Committee on Education Finance and requested a roll call. No action was taken.
The committee heard testimony on the bill.

Chair Erickson noted that the final motion would refer HF 2127 to the Committee on Education Finance.
Representative Mariani moved orally to amend the
H2127DE4 amendment.
The amendment is as follows:
Page 6, line 6.3, reinstate "deliver" and delete "must supervise but need not be physically present for the delivery of"
Page 6, line 6.11, reinstate "deliver" and delete "supervise the delivery of"
Page 6, line 6.12, delete "but is not required to be physically present during the delivery of that instruction"
Representative Myhra accepted the amendment "as a friendly amendment."
There is a technical amendment to H2127DE4.
The amendment is as follows:
Page 7, line 7.8, delete "this" and insert "(a)" after "paragraph"
Page 7, line 7.10, delete "(b)" and insert "(d)" in its place
Page 7, line 7.21, delete "certification"
Chair Erickson moved to adopt the oral amendment and the technical amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Chair Erickson renewed the motion that HF 2127, as amended, be recommended to pass and referred to the Committee on Education Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF 1524 (Mariani) Substitute principal continuing education requirements clarified.
Representative Mariani moved that HF 1524 be recommended to pass and be placed on the general register. Representative Mariani presented the bill and stood for questions.
