MINUTES
Representative Denny McNamara, Chair of the Committee on Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Policy and Finance called the fifty-sixth meeting to order at 8:20 a.m. on February 23, 2012, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present at 8:20 a.m.
Representative Hancock moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on February 22, 2012 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
H.F. 2244 (O'Driscoll) Permanent School Fund Advisory Committee changed into a legislative commission, and commission authority granted to employ a director to oversee, manage, and administer school trust lands.
Rep. Hancock moved that H.F. 2244 be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations and Elections.
Rep. O’Driscoll and Rep. Dittrich presented H.F. 2244.
Grace Keliher, MN School Boards Association, Tom Landwehr, Commissioner of the MN Department of Natural Resources, Craig Pagel, Iron Mining Association, Wayne Brandt, MN Forest Industries and MN Timber Producers Association, Eric Haugee, AFSCME, and Don Arnosti, Audobon Society testified on H.F. 2244.
Rep. Hansen moved that H.F. 2244 be laid on the table. THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.
Rep. Hancock renewed his motion that H.F. 2244 be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations and Elections.
Rep. Torkelson requested a roll call vote.
