GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS AND ELECTIONS

MINUTES

Representative Peppin Chair of the Government Operations and Elections Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:25 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Hancock moved approval of the minutes from February 17, 2011. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WHERE APPROVED.

H.F. 501 (Runbeck) Interest arbitration factors specified.

Representative Peppin moved that H.F. 501 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the House Civil Law Committee.

Representative Peppin moved the A11-0082 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

On a vote of 7 AYES and 6 NAYS, THE MOTION PREVAILED AND H.F. 501 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS, AS AMENDED, AND RE-REFERRED TO THE CIVIL LAW COMMITTEE.

H.F. 502 (Lenczewski) Youth sports and library permitted use of revenue modified for other purposes.

Representative Nelson moved that H.F. 502 be recommended to pass, and be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Representative Nelson moved the H0502A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Nelson renewed his motion that H.F. 502 be recommended to pass, as amended, and be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes. THE MOTION PREVAILED, AND H.F. 502 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AS AMENDED AND BE RE-REFERRED TO THE COMMITTEE ON TAXES.
