HIGHER EDUCATION POLICY AND FINANCE
MINUTES
Representative Dettmer, Vice Chair of the Higher Education Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:30 PM on March 11th, 2011, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative Morrow moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 8, 2011 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF821 (Nornes) Senior citizen higher education program eligibility changed.
Representative Nornes moved that HF821 be recommended to pass and sent to the general register.

Representative Nornes amended his motion that HF821 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill.
Representative Dettmer moved that HF821 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF 40 (Norton) Lifelong learning account established, tax credits allowed to employers and employees for contributions to lifelong learning accounts, and money appropriated.
Representative Norton moved that HF40 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Jobs and Economic Development.

Representative Nornes took the gavel at 1:02 PM.
Representative Nornes moved to renew the motion to pass HF40 and be re-referred to the Committee on Jobs and Economic Development. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
