MINUTES
Representative Nornes, Chair of the Higher Education Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:30 PM on March 15th, 2011, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative Benson moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 10, 2011 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF862 (Benson) University of Minnesota and Mayo Foundation Partnership money appropriated.
Representative Benson moved that HF862 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill.
The committee heard testimony on HF862.

Representative Morrow moved to amend HF862 as follows and called for a roll call:
Page 1, Line 6, after "PARTNERSHIP", insert "AND AGRICULTURE AND EXTENTION SERVICE"
Page 1, after line 17, insert "$52,225,000 in fiscal year 2012 and $52,225,000 in fiscal year 2013 are appropriated from the general fund to the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota for the agricultural experiment station and the Minnesota Extension Service."

Representative Nornes moved that HF862 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative Dettmer took the gavel at 12:58 PM.
HF849 (Nornes) College and university mandates eliminated.
Representative Nornes moved that HF849 be heard and considered for possible inclusion in the Higher Education Omnibus Bill.

Amend the title accordingly.
