MINUTES

Representative LeMieur, of the Jobs and Economic Development Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:35 p.m. on March 15, 2011, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Mullery moved HF645 (Minority population grant program provided for collaborative activities to reduce unemployment and money appropriated) be laid over for possible inclusion in the Jobs and Economic Development Finance Committee Omnibus Bill.

Testifying before committee on behalf of the Mn Latino Council was Hector Garcia, Executive Director, Ilean Her, Director of Latino Affairs, and Ema Corrie, on behalf of MnDot, Business Project Director, and on behalf of the Black Minnesotans Council was Lester R. Collins, Executive Director.

Representative McFarlane moved HF995 (Womenventure funding provided for business development programs, and money appropriated) be laid over for possible inclusion in the Jobs and Economic Development Finance Committee Omnibus Bill.

Testifying before committee on behalf of the Women Venture Program was Deb Wilkens, President, Diane Paterson, Director of Business Development and Jen Swenseid, on behalf of Heart and Core Athletic Apparel, Owner.

Representative McFarlane moved HF693 (Minority business development programs money appropriated) be laid over for possible inclusion in the Jobs and Economic Development Finance Committee Omnibus Bill.

Testifying before committee on behalf of the Minnesota Economic Development Association was Yvonne Cheung Ho, Executive Director, and on behalf of AJASA was Anthony Williamson, III, CEO, and Salam Tarraf, CEO on behalf of Tarraf Construction.

Chair Gunther moved HF983 (Enterprise Minnesota, Inc. funding provided and money appropriated) be laid over for possible inclusion in the Jobs and Economic Development Finance Committee Omnibus Bill.

Testifying before committee on behalf of the Enterprise Minnesota, Inc. was Louis Jambois, Board Member, and John Connelly, Board Member.

Chair Gunther moved HF 893 (Vinland Center for rehabilitation services funding provided, and money appropriated).

Testifying before committee on behalf of the Vinland Center was Mary Roehl, Executive Director.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:12 p.m.
