JUDICIARY POLICY AND FINANCE COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Shimanski, Chair of the Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:17 A.M. on March 8, 2012, in Room 10 (ground floor) of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Hilstrom moved approval of the March 1, 2012 Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee minutes. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Kelly presented HF 2491. Domestic abuse no contact order provided as a criminal order, and proceeding provisions modified.

Representative Hilstrom moved HF 2491 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Hilstrom renewed her motion that HF 2491 be recommended to pass and be place on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Garofalo presented HF 68. Careless driving resulting in death provided to be a gross misdemeanor.

Representative Cornish moved HF 68 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Cornish renewed his motion that HF 68 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Vogel presented HF 1899. Jacob's law established, law enforcement notification required to social services if a child is neglected or abused outside the home, and parental rights under custody orders amended to include police reports on minor children.

Representative Vogel moved HF 1899 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

Representative Vogel moved that HF 1899 be recommended to pass, as amended, and be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice Chairman Mazorol assumed the gavel at 9:13am.

Representative Shimanski presented HF 2531. Parenting plan mediation development required.

Representative Shimanski moved that HF 2531 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law.

Representative Shimanski moved the
H2531A2 amendment to HF 2531. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
