MINUTES
Representative Cornish, Chair of the Public Safety and Crime Prevention Policy and Finance Committee, called the sixteenth meeting to order at 10:17 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative Nornes moved that the minutes of February 17, 2011, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF0479 (Kahn) Water pipe fluid weight use established when determining weight or amount of controlled substance.
Chairman Cornish moved that HF0479 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee.
The committee heard testimony on HF0479.

Chairman Cornish renewed his motion that HF0479 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Judiciary Policy and Finance Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Neil Melton, Executive Director of the Minnesota Board of Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST Board), gave an overview of the board's budget and answered questions of the committee.
Marie Ohman, Executive Director of the Private Detective and Protective Agent Services Board, and Dan Boytim, Accounting Supervisor at the Department of Public Safety, gave an overview of the board’s budget and answered questions of the committee.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:39 a.m.
